Sex and the City 2

First of all... it was great!
Not as amazing as the first but it was nothing less than what I expected.
It opened up with vocals stylings of Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' New Yorrrk which was of course suiting for the movie. What followed immediately after that was quite the shocker- Standford and Anthony got hitched!
Whaaaaaat?!
Yeah! Iiiiiiii knnnow!
Now, that made me gasp considering they hated each other's guts for yeeeeeears!
Then, of course it had it's hilarious moments...
sad moments...
and moments that made you pout your lip and moan, "awwwh."
For me, I've missed the drama, the fashion- I've missed the gals! But let's be honest- it was more fashion than anything else. It really felt like they were forcing everyone's story into the movie and somehow (although he made a brief appearance in the beginning of the movie) Steve was left in the dust. Lol! Not that he had anything crazy going on anyway!
I could be hard on this movie because I am, in fact, a die hard Sex and the City fan.
Perhaps, it's selfish of me to criteek this movie as much as possible because I'm sure this is the last run for the ladies. I wanted more! MORRRRRRRRRRE!
Ok...
So, let's get dirty...
Liza Minelli kills Beyonce's Put a Ring on it. I mean, she really held it down! Get it!
Aiden pops up outta nowhere as the ladies take a trip to Abu Dhabi on a business trip, on behalf of Samantha Jones. What made me mad was the fact that Aiden kept picking Carrie up and spinning her around like he lost his sense! He knew she was married! Jerk! But allow me to point an index finger off of each hand- one at Aiden and the other at Carrie! Yes, the went out to dinner and yes they kissed! OMG! I know!
Ooops! Sorry for the spill...
Let's talk fashion...

Monic's Official Fashion Wishlist:
The breathtaking Christian Louboutin Sparkly gold heels.
Oh, yes... I do love my shoes... I could hug Mr. Louboutin for making these.
Excuse me while I cry...

I won't say too much, except for expect another update once everyone has seen the movie.

Fun Tool!

Turn the Lights Out and Listen Tuesday: Adele- Chasing Pavements

You know, the very first time I heard this song it was in the morning on VH1. It was one of the videos played by new artist, Adele... incredible. I would recommend turning the lights out once you've watched the video a few times. She hardly fits into the Old School Classics category I've been posting on Tuesdays, however, she is an artist with a stronger substance than most artists out today. I love her voice- the way it crackles a bit with her little accent. Awh! It's quite soulful, in fact, I literally drown in this track specifically because I can relate to the words and the feelings the gestures inflict in this video.
Oh, how I love the concept of this video... I could hug it! It's crazy because it shares with you the paradise experienced between the two lovers in the midst of disaster. Perhaps, it suggests the moments someone experiences before something incredibly terrible happens- "my life flashed before my eyes!" In this case, it seems their souls are the ones reflecting since their lives have already expired. Jeeez, truly I hope they (the lovers) were still basking in the happiness they lived after the were killed. But, wait! The deception! That cheating lint licker of a woman! She gives good women bad names!
In any case... this is a great song... get it on your iPod ASAP! AND! She has another track I love off of the same album entitled, 19, released in 2008. That's a must-have! Get it!
Enjoy!

Today was a Good Day!

Hilarity, took place today and I will work you into that part.

Today, while I was at work, I look up and there he was... ICE CUBE aka Oshea Jackson!
Oooh! What a nice name! Oshea... it just pronounces smooth like silk! Whooo! Oshea...
I looked at him in his face and all I could say was, "Oh, my God! Shut up!"
There was no doubt in my mind that I looked like a complete idiot to him- at least his face didn't show what he must have been thinking! Ha!
His demeanor is actually quite intimidating however, he's a smiler! A humble one at that!
Jackie- my coworker- I call him Jackie but his real name is Jack, was shaking his hand and Mr. Oshea... Oshea... Oshea... smiled so big and was happy to hear what Jackie had to say...
And his facial features are quite strong in person!
I didn't mind it...
There's a reason why I have most of his movies and know plenty of his songs...
People like that get far...
What's funny is that one of the guys in his party asked us how we were doing and Jackie said, "Great!"
And the guy replied, "Well, that's great! I guess today was a good day!"
All is could do was crack up like the dumb fool I am and say, "I like how you said that!"
Ha!
I'm tickled by his whole thing!
Yay!

Part Dalawa
(Dalawa means two in Tagalog aka a filipino dialect- Yeah, I just schooled you!)

I'm standing there next to my homie, Carlo and when I turn around, I see this woman who happens to be more beautiful in person and is awfully familiar! I move closer to her and stare harder to her face and say, "Oh! It's you!"
It was the wife and family of Terry Crews from the BET TV show The Family Crews.

I look at Carlo and he's bouncing his pecks up and down! Hahahahhahahaaaaa! I said to him, "Carlo, what the heck are you doing?!"
He said, "I was doing that way before her husband was!"
Ahahahhahaaaaaaa!
Ahhahahhaaaaa!
Can you believe he actually told her that while he was bouncing them up and down?!
Ahahahahahaaaa!
My friend Carlo...

I just want you to know that you are such a special friend to me!
Lol!
The end.
Aahahahaaaa!

DJ Kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiid Capri!

Word! So, today was pretty cool! I met DJ Kid Capri...
I remember him from Def Comedy Jam way back in the day and the radio growing up. And who could forget his trademark, "DJ Kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiid Capri?!"
Wow! It was a cool moment for me...

There he was...
I was like, "Oh snap! That's Kid Capri!"
Lol! I'm such a fool!
I thought to say, "hello!" because he is a Music Lover like me... we have something in common!
Word! That was hot!
Of course, I said the same dumb thing I always say when I see someone worth saying hello to-
"Is it you?!"
Oh, dear goodness... I guess that's what makes me one of a kind!
Never mind the fact that he had a DJ KID CAPRI sticker on his laptop as if that didn't give it away!
Who's a dork? You're probably thinking, Mo-ni-caaaa!
So! I don't care! I might even agree with you!
What's really cool is that he was so giddy- high on life even! He just kept smiling and was completely personable! I love that about humble people! What a nice guy!

For those of you that need a trip back down memory lane...
I give you...
Def Comedy Jam hosted by Martin Lawrence and DJ Kid Capri!
CLASSIC!
Can you believe this was 18 years ago?! Crazy!
Get it!

The Official UNofficial Gemini Yearly Horoscope (May21~ June 20)

Otay, Gemini's... This is your Official UNofficial Yearly Horoscope, brought you by, yours truly... Me! Ow!

If you were born on an odd numbered day, ending in a three or a seven, you are stuck between two worlds- the good and the bad! That thing you've been doing... yeeeah... Bad! Apparently, normal Gemini's have no problem multitasking, but you, oh boy... let's just say Mama calls you her "special one." Mmmkay? What you need to do is quit bouncing back and forth, like you can handle it and keep it moving. If this seems quite difficult to you perhaps you should seek professional help. No! Not from me... another professional! If you don't you'll be waaay, I mean, like super waaay in over your head. Slacking on this advice could end you committing some type of crime or even worse... telling a lie! You don't want to lie to anybody do you?! I didn't think so! Make it happen Cap'n!

If your first name has an A or P...

HOLT!
Oh, sweet goodness! Why did they come out with ANOTHER Karate Kid?! Are you serious?! We have had enough of Daniel, son! Aight?! Be original, for Pete's sake!

Anyways... yeeeah...
Like I was saying before I was rudely startled by that nonsense commercial for another unoriginal flick...
If your first name has an A or P in it... You're fine. There's nothing wrong with you. BUT you do have a friend that really isn't your friend. It's most likely a two-faced chick but I can't put my finger on it at the moment. Keep an eye out. Oh, and play the lotto... Congratulations!

I'll Always Love My Mama!

And there she is... My Mama, back in the day... and me! Ow! <3
There's only one of her and I share her with not only with my Dad, my older sister, Jesca and younger brother, Jr., I am lucky enough to share her with anyone who needs a wonderful person like her in their life too! It's a funny thing looking back on all of those years growing up... Being mad at her for things she wouldn't let me have and mad again for the things she gave and I thought I didn't need... Doing things I really wish I didn't, thinking back... I guess SHE'S the one laughing now...
Ma, you don't have to say, "I told you so!"
I already know.
I know it must be hard for you mother's out there teaching your children things maybe you're not 100% sure about- so, you try your very best to guide in the right direction. You're only a mother to each of your children only once, individually, but equally at the same time. Ma, it's incredible how you extend your imagination, will, strength, courage and loving hands to everyone you know needing it. And be fair at the same time. I wish I could start over knowing I wanted to be just like you now, being aware that although my feet are waaaaaay bigger than yours, I have some major shoes to fill.
I want to thank you for doing your best even when I failed. And thank you for being there, like always when I did succeed. The world doesn't have arms big enough to hold a heart like yours. I'm grateful and blessed to know that I couldn't either, BUT I can hug you really tight. That's a start right? I'm grateful to GOD for believing that I do deserve to have a woman in my life like you... My Mother. :0) I wish I had more to give to show my appreciation for you doing such an amazing job... and most of all, being my Mom.

I LOVE YOU, MAMACITA!

This goes out to all the mother's out there... Happy Mother's Day!!!
A special shout out to my sister, Jesca, my Mom, my Grandma, my Lola, to all of you ladies I call "Auntie," Annie Bananie, Ms. Violet...
And Special, Special Shout Outs to Nazeg Abouelala and Karen Schuller (RIP). <3>

For your listening pleasure... I give you, The Intruders! :0)
